  • Giving Apple Ads Credence

Here's how I felt about these Microsoft ads: So, Apple makes these commercials where they equate ''being a PC'' to being lame, not-with-it, and etc. In response, Microsoft creates counter commercials to tell Windows users they're cool too. Is this really the best you can do, Microsoft? The fact that Microsoft is directly replying to the ...

  • Other than tweaking Apple, not memorable

Aside from the John Hodgman lookalike at the beginning, these ads remind me not so much of Apple's ads, but rather an earlier Microsoft ad campaign from several years ago, also very P.C., showing ordinary middle-class people from all over Europe and North America (and maybe South America, too) getting up in the morning, bathing, eating breakfast, ...

  • vista mojave ad

It's funny that the latest ''Ads We Hate'' column is embedded with the utterly misleading Mojave ads for Vista.

Microsoft's rush to present another unglitched OS no matter how they choose to diguise it is still the same old s**t. I'm running XPprosp2 and have no intention of supporting Microsoft again. The snake finally has its tail in mouth and hopefully it will ingest itself.

  • Some decent advice, but outdated analysis

Interesting that this four-year old advice is still mostly valid to me, but the detailed steps are actually outdated due to the default security options in modern operating systems: 1. I find it hard to believe that in 2004 (when the article was originally published) most users did not have Windows XP which comes with a firewall. Anyone who ...

  • Vista vs OS X Leopard

I find it fascinating the author waited until the 3rd from the last paragraph to mention that Vista would be available on thousands of hardware platforms and OS X would work on 7 computer models. He even called that a sidebar benefit. Gee, where is the superior technology? One that handles hardware and drivers for upwards of 10,000 items or one ...

  • Microsoft VISTA why is it sooo bad?

Well, Microsoft is at it again. Poor design, and I think they lost their quality department in the mid 90's. I have a suggestion for the Microsoft Software Design Engineers... Use the system without administrator priviledges for once, and see how the rest of the world suffers. Maybe they should try using other operating systems to understand why ...

  • Mac, Windows, and Crap-Flavored Gum

It's a lot like Microsoft announced a new brand of s***-flavored gum and then yanked all the other gum off the market -- and suddenly marketing calls and says ''hey, um, we're not selling a lot of our s***-flavored gum.'' and they're all scratching their collective butts/heads saying... ''Hmmmmm.....I wonder why...'' So they agree to put grape ...
