it's probably unenforceable
These sorts of waivers are really common, but they aren't enforceable if they run contrary to public policy. In this instance, there would seem to be grave public policy concerns. We are talking about putting kids out in the desert for 6 weeks without being able to communicate with their parents. We are talking about parents waiving negligence ...
