One thing these med students do have going for them is that they are already a lot smarter than the rest of us - just qualifying and being accepted into med school. Perhaps a mandatory course/courses on doctors and depression could bring the problem more out in the open.

Completed Suicide among Med Students
Significant numbers of medical students, and doctors, have suicidal thoughts. I hope someone is tracking completed suicide among physicians in training and physicians in practice. In the 1990s, I taught at a large midwestern medical school that lost one or two students to suicide every year. If we had lost those students to an infectious ...
