What Do Pope John Paul II and Hugh Hefner Have in Common?
I am not Catholic, nor a scholar of Pope John Paul's ''Theology of the body.'' But that West puts Hugh Hefner and John Paul II together as advocates of overcoming sexual shame shows, to me, that he misunderstands both of them. I'm not convinced that Hefner thinks sex is good, in contradistinction to the 'Puritans' who think that sex is bad: ...

God Bless Google
Blogging the 12 Days of Christmas has bumped my google rating from a 4 to a 5. I didn't realize till just last year that the song was an allegory...a mnemonic for young catholic children... I could only imagine the mess 23 birds and 50 hormonal, young guests would make, especially in the days before the pill...and with only 5 wedding bands ...

While I sympathize with this female academician and her illustrations greatly, based on her point of view, I have to either disagree or comment ...

Pedophiles tend to seek out jobs that have access to children because they are drawn to these positions the same way that alcoholics tend become ...

Patriarchal and medieval
Anse, I agree with your well-written statement. In addition, it seems to me that the male-dominated patriarchal Church has once again discriminated against women. In turning out the nuns, they have placed their needs below those of the pederasts who caused the financial problems to begin with. Throughout this scandal, it seems like the ...
