Re-Writing Edward Hirsch's "Green Couch" as a Limerick
This poem is well written. It does not eschew form for the sake of freedom. In fact the sparceness of the form fits the angst of the poem without cramping the Hirsch's ability to paint images in the reader's mind. I am therefore left with little reason to re-write ''Green Couch'' as a limerick except as an exercise to prove it can be done and ...
