  • Anne Applebaum and Sarah Palin

Upon doing a Google search, I find Ms. Applebaum LOVES the word ''hypocrisy'' and yes she IS and represents the mainstream media. The first mistake she makes about analyzing Sarah Palin's Facebook comment is to dissect it. Facebook comments are inherently non-dissectable since they are simply reactions to events and life in general. Ms. ...

  • Ignoring the media

People, including virtually all my immediate family, ignore the media for a very rational reason. The news media is completely predictable. Why watch the evening news when it is for all intents and purposes a Democratic National comittee press release ? Why read Slate when I know in advance every word that every columnist will say ? Why ...

  • Dam Right Obama Wants Freedom from 24/7 News Cyle!

I love it. The media is squirming. You're dammed right Obama is trying to free himself from the news cycle. More power to him! The 24/7 news cycle dumbs down political coverage by shirking any attempt at reasonable analysis and distorts events by seeking immediate response to everything and anything, giving equal status to the profound, the ...

  • Obama Need to Flick Off Republican Criticisms

The Obama Administration is repeating a mistake it made in the campaign: the media/messaging team underestimates the power of the 24 hour news cycle. You can't just write off cable news as 'inside-the-beltway' speak. The whole point of Fox, and yes, MSNBC and CNN is to throw up a torrent of criticism and complaint during the day and see which ...

  • Correction of E. Bazelon & J. Resnik Distortion of US Const.

I am responding to an article by E. Bazelon & J. Resnik, reluctantly. I say reluctantly because I find it disturbing to have to correct a foreigner on their own country's culture, much less politics. The aforementioned individuals made the extraordinary claim that ''Obama should look when he makes his first appointments to the bench''. ...

  • Face it: the media were the biggest losers in 2008

I took calls from voters at the Obama headquarters. About 20-30% were people calling in with the latest in cable news. “Morning Joe said this. He MUST respond.” “Mathews said this, tell people it’s a lie.” “Fox News just reported about Obama’s brother who lives in a hut! What are you going to do!” Most of the time I let them vent and then ...

  • It was fun to watch the White House Press at Obama's first

They seemed stunned at the change. I recall them almost slack-jawed when Obama actually asked a Ms. Sweet what happened to her broken arm. They were so used to Bush and his arrogant/alcoholic namecalling and such. Press conferences were indeed a rare occasion, weren't they? Especially civil and informative ones.

  • One sided media

I do agree that McCain needs to improve his speaches and focus on how he intends to fix our economy and protect the American People. However, Obama has not stated how his policies will fix our economy. All he states is vote for me and I will do the right thing. But How? Also, I feel that the media, including these polls and opinions, are focused ...

  • McCain: Call Chicago a Terrorist-loving Haven

Finally! Someone besides Mayor Daley, who last spring issued a statement commending Bill Ayers for his work on behalf of Chicago Public Schools and argued against focusing on a 40 year old past, has spoken out. If McCain wants to damage Obama for serving on the board of the Annenberg Foundation, let him take on the other Board members, too. ...
