  • Two sets of rules

...one for the connected and one for everyone else. That's the real reason why the middle class got hosed. Investment banks, government contractors and credit card companies all made money during the boom and now are rebounding faster than the rank and file who punch a clock. Look at ...

  • Here we go again (POSTED BY : 442 cheshire farm ct)

As i said (look at subject) look some may find my information or my opinions a lie i don't care but you must read this. • Re: What's the money for?

I think Don stashes the money at home for ready access in the event that his fake identity is compromised. It's less about a getaway, more about not foolishly keeping all of his money banked under a name that's not even really his. I think also that Don doesn't really care that much about the money, and his keeping a big stash at home (where ...

  • Bad home?

I am not sure how any of the writers of this TV club grew up but I would in second trade my childhood for the Drapers. Was it ideal? No. However they have food on the table, a roof over their heads, no one beating, abusing or raping them. And let’s not forget the abundant wealth--dance classes and horseback riding does not come cheap. I'm not ...

  • RE: Bosses requesting donations to charity

I have to commend your ''don't do it'' advice regarding the employer requesting donations in the office. In the late 80's, I worked for a small property management firm. We are ''asked'' once a year in a large company wide meeting to agree to and sign papers donating 2-5% of our salary (gross) to United Way. Line employees were ''asked'' to ...

  • My Pastor is right about tithing

My pastor always says ''You can't out give God, try it''. This is so true. The bible states in Luke 6:38 to ''Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over shall men give unto you''. He takes care of his children and if you give with a happy heart, He will bless you for it. I was a single ...

  • Debt & Tithing

Dear Readers and Fellow Commentators: First, I would like to say that one of the best quotes I have ever heard was this, ''The best thing you can do for the poor is NOT to become one of them.'' How can we help the poor if we are yoked with heavy amounts of debt and the never ending credit card fees? The word of God says that my burden is easy ...

  • Tithing is Obselete, no longer applicable

Rule of thumb...read, study and understand the Old Testament before reading the New Testament. New Testament just parapharse laws and statues explicitly noted in the Old Testament. Unless you grow your own food (i.e. home garden, farmer, own live stock etc...) it is impossible to tithe per the scriptures (see Lev 27: 30-34; Numbers 18:19-24). ...

  • family loan

To the reader from Arlington, VA regarding a family loan. There was a company called Circle Lending that specialized in setting up loans for family and friends using your money. I assume they take care of the contracts and collections, and take a cut of whatever interest is paid by the receiver. It's a way to make a bank the ''bad guy'' in the ...
