I would have to say that the fashion industry has taken it beyond what it used to be. The word pre-teen first started in the 60s...but it seems that the fashion industry and the media have hyperbolized that stage of life so much

dudes loving cats
I dont know if this is a new trend or not but I'd have to say that most of my single male friends have owned at least 1 cat, and about half of them owned 2 cats at any given time. Also interesting is that 3 of them named thier cats ''kiddy'' or ''kitty'' and 2 named them ''baby girl''.

Bogus trend
This article seem (LOL) to imply that men don't now, or didn't in the past, like cats. I have male friends who like cats, even have more than one or two prowling around their homes. Men who live in apartments would be sensible to choose cats, cats don't need to be walked. They are small and won't block the entrance to the kitchen. Even in ...

Domestic Violence Myth
A lot of extreme feminist groups would have you believe that most domestic violence is perpetrated by men. Speaking as a woman who has seen it from both sides, been thrown around and seen the guys get smacked around too - not hardly. Women tend to start it. And regardless of who is bleeding, regardless of who started it, the cops arrest the man ...

But Men Do Get Custody
I don't have the sources, but I remember hearing studies that found that when men sue for custody, they are more likely to get it. More women end up with custody, but when men push for it, they get it. The suggestion that men back off due to fears of being accused of child abuse is unsubstantiated. It sounds like it's just something you've ...

In (near) Total agreement
My wife habitually gets lost, under/over estimates how much time it takes to get from place to place, can't find her way home out of a paper bag, and is basically the prime candidate for a GPS. As a loving husband I bought one at christmas and installed it in her car. Before the Garmin, I was a semi vocal backseat driver content to stew in my own ...

Male Bashing Hardly Ever Good Natured
I am laughing as I write this. In reality, male bashing is hardly ever good natured; especially when it comes from a woman or an alleged male journalist. The ladies claim it is 'harmless teasing' and we should all 'man up' when it comes to their sexist ribbing and cruel insult. But for those of us that are a bit more intelligent than to buy ...

What's Bringing Down the American Male?
Why are males graduating at a lower rate from high school? Why are fewer males attending university? Why are homicide and suicide rates for males, ecspecially African American males, between 15- 27 so high and seemingly increasing? Is there a crop of males who are effectively 'throw aways', like the young males of the Mormon fundamentalist ...

Re: female infidelity
WOW! So much tension here. Let's see if I can set about answering the original challenge. I think women and men are very similar in their reasons for cheating but I don't think asking why women cheat is the right question. I think asking why women cheat when they have so much more to lose is a better question! So before everyone jumps on my ...

Men's and Women's Websites/Magazines
I found Rachael Larimore's comments about Yahoo's new section ''Shine'' to be interesting. She takes offense that the self proclaimed ''women's website'' would concern itself with very derivative and stereotypical women's issues and desires clothing, shopping, celebrities, etc. She indicates that she feels it should it concern itself with more ...
