Re: Congratulations - Mary Ann
Hey, very cool, Denny and NoStar. I'd like to see that awarded limerick, if you don't mind tipping me off when it's presented. Congratulations from my end also, MaryAnn. I just looked up NoStar's limericks on the OEDILF...at least the ones deemed worthy of a general audience! Hmm... wr ()()

Re: Gimmericks and other irregularities
The perfect limerick is all anapestic. da da DUM da da DUM da da DUMda da DUM da da DUM da da DUMda da DUM da da DEEda da DUM da da DEEda da DUM da da DUM da da DUM So that means I was right the first time, in all but keeping Denny's rhyme of ''Maria'' and ''urea'' with ''dysuria''. Well, it was bound to happen: your description of the limerick ...

Re: "Out House Story" the Case for Dysuria
Lines 3 and 4 with 5 syllables each? No problem. I once knew a girl named MariaWho suffered a case of dysuria. She'd sit on the potEach chance that she got,And seek to discharge her urea. And from a certain point of view, I like this better. No doubt this result helps explain why the exact form exists in the first place. wr ()()

Of course, whenever one or both of you TAPs start congratulating each other on how peerless you are, I get cheerfully reminded, if not of a famous Dr. Seuss book, then of a famous Charlie Daniels song: When the ...

Re: "The Fate of Limericks"
You say that this po'm's a sestina; That certainly 'plains the patina. It throbs in my brainLike the alien strainsInside the Mos Eisley cantina. wr ()() P.S.: If I can come up with the right starting idea, the HOTR parody will all but write itself. Stay tuned...you might see something in that direction! P.P.S.: That's really saying something, ...

Re: Too many "H"s - to both
denny: ''Oh, love me, yes, love me!'' he pleads. This man is a sinkhold of needs! He takes and he takes; These lusts he can't shake. His words? Just as bad as his deeds!'' d;-) I didn't want to tamper too much with the original. Your edition? I like. But where's the original poete? wr ()()

My turn (from my front-page review)...
I suppose I could argue that form(Were it stricter: some classical norm)Would improve this as such...But (no doubt) it's too muchTo expect those near death to conform. wr ()()
