  • Re: What's On Your iPod?

Ok Genedio. For jazz I used to love fushion. But got rid of my 50s record player and outgrew it. Used to go to some jazz clubs but not anymore and not as good as they used to be, most of the dudes I loved are gone now. Bluegrass live. Never on the radio, tape, cd or album. Old time Country but not a lot and have to be in the ...

  • I had to write this

I wanted to actually write a similar post on a different article from way more recently. But I lost the article after I read it, and looked all over the internet, using google, and windows live search, and apparently, couldn't find it, I wonder why. The article I'm reffering to is one of a similar subject, it's about my generation, the facebook ...

  • The Software Dilemma

I first wrote about the ''threat'' MP3s posed to audiophiles back in 2001 (http://www.audio-ideas.com/columns/mp3-death-knell.html), and that was before the rise of the cultural and technological juggernaut of the iPod. Now, as then, the momentum behind the argument that MP3s just aren't good enough for storing and distributing music is feeble at ...

  • Wrong. Mp3s are variable quality. iPods store any quality.

Good article in some ways, but is the author really as clueless as it seems about the adjustable 'quality' settings for MP3 codecs? Mp3 encoding can be done in a variety of ways, optimized for tiny file size (and resulting bad-quality sound), or optimized for VERY high sound quality and corresponding large file sizes. Doesn't this basic fact ...

  • Re: Why consumers should favor iTunes

I for one got rid of all of my Itunes, I didn't like the fact that Apple made it very difficult to share the Itunes between different computers of mine. If I want music now I either buy unlocked MP3's from Amazon or buy the CD and burn the music onto my hard drive and sync it to my MP3 player. I don't believe in illegally sharing my MP3's with ...

  • Ways to LEGALLY record video and put it on your Ipod...

There are a number of ways to get FREE, completely legal tv shows and movies on your ipod. If you doubt the legality of this, just think of it as a Tivo on your pc. 1. You can record shows directly onto your pc via cable, DishNetwork/DirecTV, or over-the-air standard or High Definition shows using software and a tv tuner card for your desktop ...

  • Re: Unbox > ITunes

It may not be Apple software, but there are several alternative ways to get video from other sources onto your ipod. One of the best, but most time consuming and expensive is to purchase/install and learn to use Beyond TV (Google it for their website.). They have a new feature that nearly automatically converts and loads shows onto your ipod ...

  • But why do Ipods sound so bad?

Bit rates and coding are nice, but why do Ipods sound so bad? Even when played through decent stereo systems? They sound muddy and there are no almost no dynamic contrasts.

  • iPod touch nay-sayers: shackled by “gadget thinking”

There are many business, design and technology reasons why Apple may not be ready to open up the iPhone/iPod touch. I examined a list of them here: iPod touch nay-sayers: shackled by “gadget thinking” http://counternotions.com/2007/10/01/ipod-touch-nay-sayers-shackled-by-gadget-thinking/
