Who said, "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"
I agree that during the campaign she was remarkably racist and sexist. Both are incredibly manipulative. She is fantasic at what she does though, and brilliant. I think a lot of the abuse they ground through from the a holes of the GOP all those years made them who they are. They had to adopt an ''if you can't beat em, join em.'' I do love them ...

Please stop.
First it was, ''Will Hillary set us back?'' Now it's Sarah Palin. The answer to that question in both cases is, ''Hell no!'' You must think men are just looking for any little excuse to put us back in the stable. You must think men have the power to put us back in the stable. They aren't, and they don't. Will your pathetic hand-wringing set us ...

The Spite Vote
I enjoyed your article and found many points you made to be right on the money. In particular, I find the attitude of disgruntled Clinton supporters who say they won't vote for Obama to be ridiculous and thick with irony. Their displaced anger and willingness to cut off their nose to spite their face in the name of battling sexism is laughable. ...

Dahlia Lithwick Uses Recipes to Write a Legal Column About..
... ABORTION. Lithwick's very idea that women do not have reproductive choice, if they cannot extinquish the life growing in their own wombs, is in and of itself faulty. I mean, my God, did the female have sex with the guy, or did she not? As to being ''for change'' in everything but pro-Abort American policies at home and abroad, not everyone ...

Dahlia Lithwick
I guess Dahlia Lithwick is auditioning for Maureen Dowd's job. The ugly stereotyping of older women in literature is hardly a reason to make a reverse sexist attack on older women for having a particular view that Lithwick doesn't understand. Guess what Dahlia? You don't need to understand it. But you need to stop bashing older women. You'll be ...

Hitch On Helms like White on Rice
Gee Hitchens, why don't you and the Queen of England tell us how you really felt about that North Carolinian champion Senator Jesse Helms? I did not know him very well, living in the Midwest among Chicago Democrats and Suburban ''Collar County'' Repubs early in life, and then moving to New England, where both the Democrats and the Republicans have ...

Hostage
Is Sen. Obama going to be held hostage by the HRC and her supporters because she lost the race fair and square? - without all that convoluted math about her winning the most popular votes - I am still scratching my head over that ploy and how anyone would fall for that. I am a 59 year old white female accountant and I could just never get into ...

Womanism, Angela Walker and Hillary Clinton
Here's the thing, it's not about apologizing. It's about awareness. There's been a history of slavery in this country and after that subordination and after that institutionalized racism and a large segment of the people being targeted are black men. So whenever Hilary refers to race, she is forgetting all the privilege she has that allows her ...

Ann Hulbert's take on Gender and Experience
I must say that this is really a ironic post found on a blog limited to women writers. Ann is arguing that Hillary has become the candidate of the non-elite because she's postmenopausal? Oh come on! I thought that we (and by 'we' I mean 'all of us women who consider ourselves feminists') were way beyond the 'biology is destiny' crap. There may ...

The Real Reason Why Hillary Can't Give a Speech on Gender
While I agree that Hillary's relationship with gender is problematic at best and her reliance on victimization--though not entirely voluntary--would make it difficult to give a speech addressing such matters, I think you overlook our country's general refusal to confront sexism. That is not to say that race is an issue we readily welcome into the ...
