The Obesity Issue
Let's take it one step further: Doctors, nurses, social workers and politicians who are obese should be required to lose weight or forfeit a chunk of their pay: They ARE,after all, supposed to be role models for the rest of society. The poor, those who are low income shouldn't be told to lose weight when their DHS worker weighs more than they do- ...

Maybe I missed it but...
I didn't see where you demonstrate that the phrase ''public option'' originated with the Obama Whitehouse, i.e. ''citation needed'' -- MrJM

Pro Life - Hardly
The pro-life crowd has missed the bus again..Isn’t the financial strain of pregnancy and the health care costs associated with bearing and raising children a coercive factor that leads some women to have abortions? Won’t mothers with great affordable health care be more likely to choose to keep their babies? Isn’t this a good thing?

Boomers Smoking
I agree with the Dr.'s post previous to mine. I believe that each of us has a right to do what we think is best for us. I believe marijuana has many medicinal uses and that this slight risk is less than most presciption medications on the market. Look at the side effects of some of these meds and tell me would you rather take them or smoke ...

Slippery Slopes: It will all end in darkness
<short-term gratification but long-term harm). This problem is exacerbated in the case of children and adolescents> It all began with Mother encouraging, ''Go outside and play. You need some color in your face to look healthy.'' Later, lying on the beach, basting with baby oil, I turned when I could hear myself begin to sizzle on one side. ...

Re: Congressional Health Plan
Disclosure: As a County Judge, I am provided insurance, as are all full-time and part-time employees working at least 80 hours per month, by my county's Board of Supervisors, with a substantial contribution from the employee. Excluding Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, etc., Faustling, your and Mr. Gross' characterization of Government employees' (from ...

For doctors to answer
What percentage of your revenues and income goes toward paying malpractice insurance premium? How does it compare to a small businessman's liability insurance, revenues and income? At 6% annual return, how much more should you make to pay for higher cost and longer time for your education? How many doctors go out of business every year? Why ...

Lies. lies and more lies
You know, these kind of carefully organized, ''Rovian'' shenanigans annoy me on so many levels: one, that the Rep's are so darn GOOD at it and, two, that the Dem's are so darn BAD! I actually fear these folks...they hate our President so much and I think are out to destroy him. It amazes me that so many otherwise decent Americans are falling for ...

We're Just Know the Special Interests will win
From what I have heard around me, from all but the most rabid, knee-jerk, right-wing Republicans, is that we just don't want to get our hopes up. We know the health industry is fighting for its life and has won before and has most of Washington in their back pocket. We know that even now we continue to pay more and get less and that health care ...

Re: President Obama was great today!
I did not hear him, so I can't evaluate his performance. But ultimately his actions --- and the actions of the Democratic one party gov't - for better or worse - will be what he is measured by. I do not think our one party Gov't is listening---but they are good at media events. I hope to be proved wrong---not by good speeches or by nice ...
