Government abuse of power
South Dakotas law relating to doctor patient communication and abortion: This is just another method for people using and abusing government power. They attempt to control others and legislate morality by forcing their beliefs (usually based on their religion) upon all of society. Their goal is to limit freedom and force conformity with their ...

Lieing Hypocrites
What an article. Talk about no research. Did the author just call up the JW PR department and copy down everything they told him? Yes, the Watchtower Society promoted the fact that the poor Witnesses in the African country of Malawi were being persecuted because they were told by the Watchtower not to buy a political I.D. card. If they did the ...

Obama's Reparations
Lately, I have been having conversations about a topic of profound significance to me. Essentially, I believe that if (probably when) Obama becomes president, as the masterful communicator that he is, he will be able to bring the issue of reparations for slavery into the national consciousness. For too long the issue of reparations has been ...

Re: Aww, did that mean ol' Horus is upset?
Well Sgt Rock not all Dems are idiots as evidenced by the obomobots here who believe that pro-hillary as well as conservatives shut up and leave, so you are in good company. I am beginning to believe we need a more Independent Democratic Party one that believes in the democratic process. Besides there are plenty of Democrats who are for NRA, so ...

Thank you very much!
Anne Applebaum is right. I remember stories from my father as well as my uncle how much they appreciated the fact that they were able to listen in their Youth to RIAS and similar broadcasts behind the iron curtain. They listened out of curiosity for real news. But of course also out of love for music that was not part of the state sponsored ...

What is freedom of speech? Poll..
http://hyphenatedamericans.blogspot.com/ For a few years now were were learning that freedom of speech is not the same as freedom to insult other people's most dearly held beliefs. This maxim is very oftenly used today when discussing anti-Islamic views. Do you agree with this? Are anti-islamic movies tantamount to shouting ''fire'' in the ...

olympics Not the place to protest
Like another commenter mentioned China is now more in a position to do better. This movement forward will be hindered by protesters who mean well, but in fact may be hindering the very progress forward they want to stimulate.

Why I'm an American in Exile...
On June 13th, 2007, I received a death threat from someone claiming to be a member of the US Intelligence community. What was my ''crime''? I blew the whistle on the election fraud of 2004. Why did the CIA feel threatened by this? Because I revealed how they smuggled cocaine into the US using a front company called ''Skyway Communications''. ...
