Re: Thanks (Jeqal)
I just noticed that I missed posts that named me. I am still new to this and will figure out a devilish system eventually. I agree totally with you. And the behind the scenes is so true. It's even weirder when you consider that Obama has never won a contested election. I hate football, all those safety's and white flags flying ...

Re: Best post of the day
ChicagoEngineer:Though its funny, in both your version and jeqal's, the Republican car of choice is American made and the Democrats' foreign, which doesn't mesh with #9, and yet I'm pretty sure you're right on both counts. The mind boggles. The NFL is pretty widely accepted... Soccer for the Dems maybe? Die hard democrat here and I own two ...

Giants won a great game, Brady not an average QB
The giants won a great game. It involved an amazing catch on a broken play to do it as you mention. Had that play not transpired that way we'd have been talking about how the Pats found yet another ugly way to win. It kinda bugs me when you have to argue the Giants made Brady an ''average quarterback'' in the process of winning their game. ...

NFL kickers would matter more if ...
... they were given more opportunities to score. There are no touchbacks in the CFL, thanks in part to its 25-yard end zones. Instead they have a 'single', or 'rouge' in French. If a kick or punt into the end zone isn't run out for whatever reason the receiving team gets the ball at the 35 - but the kicking team gets 1 point. This would ...

Pats are the best ever!!!
I've seen the great teams starting in the early fifties, when television married the football world, here in the U.S.A.! These pats, from the ownership to the ''ball boy'' are first class. When you play for the Pats, the orginizations entire personnall are treated as family members. The Kraft family insures players families get top treatment. No ...

Patriots play a different game
The New England Patriots play football like the rest of us play chess. That's why their record stands at 18-0 and many consider watching them to be ''boring''. The Patriots and their coaches understand that trading field goals for touchdowns is always a good move, and playing ''small ball'' with the passing game is always a high percentage move. ...

Re: Team Speed vs. Individual Speed
Excellent analysis, Eulogy! I was about to post a MUCH shallower version of what you said in rebuttal to the Chait article, which is sort of silly when you think about it. It's even sillier if you simply accept the evidence of your eyes when watching Ohio State play SEC powers two years in a row. Ohio State is a fantastically disciplined team ...

Behold, the reason the world hates Patriots fans.
Someone has been spending too much time by himself in the men's stall at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots are good. Very good. No doubt about it. But seriously, are they so good that the rest of us should feel ''proud to have witnessed it?'' Let's not forget that the Patriots enjoyed a season at the top of the worst division in all of ...
