I just recently discovered a picture of my oldest sister taken when she was about 3 months old in a bikini that my mother made for her. The picture was taken in 1953 in northern Minnesota.

Finally...now more?
I was thrilled to read your article on the wrongs of Carries clothes, not because of any specific point made but because of the tone of the piece: have been searching high and low for intelligent input on womens clothes - not just the normal glorified shopping lists. Will def come back and hope to find more of the same. and here's on the subject: ...

Sleeves
The new focus on sleeves is to cover up the bones of females who are trying hard to be like the models. Unfortunately they are all grossly under weight & killing themselves!

On the street?
In my opinion, this article is no longer relevant in the sense that ''On the street'' fashion such as The Sartorialist and Facehunter, have really been overshadowed now by the influx of personal style bloggers. The biggest hub for this is the just 3 months publicly launched http://chictopia.com which I read about in The Washington Post, Tech ...

Are we overreacting?
Puberty being activated is not an indication that girls are ready to look for mates. The girls bodies and minds are not ready to reproduce and they are not prepared to make adult decisions about the risks of sex. False advertising about sexuality is risky. Women who are taught at a young age that men are the whole reason for being are hardly ...

Product positioning
Ms Turner hasn't made the connexion that movies are all about product positioning. In the TV show clothing could be chosen for artistic reasons to further the plot. Movies are about killing at the box office and making money with product placement, positioning and tie-ins. The question should be how much didi all these designers pay to have their ...

Lexus Luxury paved the way for future hybrids!
As far as I know, the Honda Insight was the first hybrid to hit the Us Auto Market in 1999. I bought my Insight one year later. Toyota trailed a tad behind with the Prius. It's additional room for the driver and passengers, plus safty features made the Prius the most sucessful and well known hybrid in the US Market. Originally from Detroit (land ...

Taking Notes
Erica Asahan wrote: I have been in many shows as a participant and as an expectator. I always take notes because I wanted to remember which one I wanted to buy right after the show. Or usually, just feeling like I am doing something. When you are sitting in the front row and given a note pad and a pencil, you better start writing something to ...

Parents need to accept responsibility
I agree completely that there are some phenomenally inappropriate cloths out there for young girls, but there are some stores that are inappropriate for parents to take their kids to. I have so sympathy for the mom who was disgusted when she took her daughter into Forever 21--Their target age range is right there in the title! What are you doing ...
