Polanski
Just because an adult is sexually stimulated by the sight or actions of a child does not excuse his actions. Your author attempts to excuse Polanski by saying the thirteen-year-old victim he raped behaved provocatively. So where does this slippery slope end? With the three-year-old tot who has learned that ''flirting'' melts an adult and yields ...

He Should Not Resign!
Sanford should remain as Governor of South Carolina; that way he will be a constant reminder of the family values wing of the Republican Party. Then he should make a serious run for President, sucking up dollars and air time that might more effectively be used by another candidate. Please, Guv, stand by your mistress!

Idleness as a way of parenting.
I couldn't agree more. I run an award-winning web site for kids, Inkless Tales, at www.inklesstales.com - endorsed by the ALA, the Encyclopedia Britannica, and RIF - heavy hitters - and the site is all designed for learning - but the site is all rigorously tested first. By kids. For fun. My own kids? We have ''do-nothing'' days. Lots ...

Mom-in-chief
Can anyone say Mommy-wars? Why do we feel that she isn't doing what is most important if she is caring for her family? She has said that she will try to promote affordable, quality daycare options for everyone. If she accomplishes that, it will have a far greater impact on working people than keeping her job ever could. One of the things I ...

Losing things including maybe my mind!
It's not just the kids who lose things...I do, too, when I am over loaded. And what with picking up after my nearly 14 year old daughter, who would give Pig Pen a run for his money, as well as myself..I am about to lose my mind! Don't fret over snapping at the kids for dribbling their stuff behind them. They deserve to be snapped at to get them ...

We’ve done nothing and we’re all out of ideas
I had a neighbor that has a master’s degree in Child Development and she would preach at us with the same misguided and deluded point of view expressed in the article ''why you shouldn't hit your kids''. However, what she failed to realize is that she had the WORST kid in the neighborhood. The child, at 5 years old, would curse at her mother and ...

Re: Spare the Rod
WHERE THIS ARTICLE FALLS SHORT IS THEY DO NOT GIVE PARENT ANY EFFECTIVE TOOL TO DICIPLINE THIER CHILDREN. Opps caps on. Anyway, today as every generation before us has said; these kids are out of control. They do not have any respect of elders or themselves. When your a straight A student; you don't heard anything encouraging these kid to go on. I ...

this is getting ridiculous!
Hmmmm.... I wonder what this generation of degenerates would be like if their parents weren't afraid to discipline them? Probably a lot better behaved! There are children killing each other in our streets! You know why? They have no fear, it's almost like a 'what are you gonna do about it' attitude. What are you gonna tell a 15 year old ...

McCain's Family Values? Just ask Ross Perot!
This story is important because Senator McCain is perceived as a ''Family Values'' man by many Evangelicals. In reality, nothing could be further than the truth! McCain likes to illustrate his moral fiber by referring to his five years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. And to demonstrate his commitment to family values, the 71-year- old former ...
