  • a slight improvement

Whatever crumbs of support McCain is and will be receiving before next Tuesday are simply not enough. Mostly it is a representation of voters who are not going to vote.

  • The Joe the Plumber Debate

On the debate, I think that all four of you missed a big part of it. Maybe you’ve been watching these guys for way to long, and you no longer see them the way an undecided, uniformed, haven’t been paying attention until now voter does (that’s not me, but I can do a reasonable imitation). I happened to listen to the first half of the debate on ...

  • Please, someone, tell Sen. McCain that Breyer is not Alito

I was shocked to learn that Obama voted against Justice Breyer's appointment to the Supreme Court-- particularly since Breyer was nominated in 1994, before Obama was in public office. Senator McCain presumably meant Alito, not Breyer. But they're two different people with two very different judicial philosophies. I hadn't quite gotten over ...

  • Past imperfect

In the news we see Governor Palin questioning Senator Obama’s acquaintance with William Ayers, asking what he knew about Mr. Ayers’s past, and when. I'm a little surprised that I see no one responding with what seems to me an obvious question. In the VP debate Governor Palin dismissed discussion of the recent, and indisputably relevant, ...

  • Sam Donaldson -- Its not what you say...

Its perfectly fine apparently to completely mistate what a guy who you claim to be friends with for 35 years, as long as you are presidential in sticking with your mistake. It doesnt really show up in the soundbites. In the debate coverage and the commentators such as Sam Donaldson (who I generally think is is pretty smart guy) are by admission ...

  • miss the debates?

No way! The whole world will be watching. The debates will confirm who will be our next president. Along with the global recession our next president is crucial to how the recession will be handled.

  • McFlub

Without even showing up, McCain has made his first debate flub. It's as if he and Palin are hitting the high sugar breakfast cereals or something. Talk about injecting stimulus into the economy! What we need is calm, assurance, patience, democracy.

  • a strategy of desperation!

By 'trying' to avoid the schedule debates McCain shows a pathetic cowardice. He knows he can't win. So cleverly attempt to change the dates?

  • Professional Journalism

I know you are professional journalists. A profession is a fancy Latin term for the way you express your belief in the one true God as you understand him. Mr. Webster describes profession as the act of taking the vows of a religious community, or: an act of openly declaring or publicly claiming a belief or faith: an avowed religious faith a: a ...

  • What the dems need to be talking about

Mr. McCain says the reason he is running negative and false ads is that he did not get the debates he wants and the trip to Iraq with Senator Obama that he wants. That puts him in the same group with 2 year olds. Do you want a two year old to be president? It also says this is the way he is going to be with congress if he does get elected. That ...
