  • What you can afford . . .

I've been reading your blog with interest. Yes, I am a realtor. I do have one mild bit of advice for other buyers out there though. It's advice I always offer my buyers, and I think its good. You made a point of saying that you didn't need to consult a lender, before finding a property. I strongly disagree with that. Not only should one consult a ...

  • Schools

Interesting that you're considering v. different neighborhoods such as AU Park and Silver Spring. One question though - what about schools? If you buy in the District, do you feel you're on the hook for private schools, at least for jr. high and high school? Or would you consider sending your children to Deal and Wilson?

  • The Prolem with the Article

Erica S. Perl, did a stack of comics fall on you as a small child? Why the arrogance in this article? Comics, as have been alluded to many times by other posters, have started many great readers. They have built a multitude of stupendous vocabularies. Yes, I am trying to show mine off. Getting down to brass tacks, the attitude presented ...

  • No shortage of Hill-dogs in DC

This is a well written piece but I think the loneliness of a young Hillary supporter at a DC school is a bit over-stated. I am a 25 y/o young professional in DC who went to GW and my group of previously politically united friends is pretty evenly split. There are some loose generalizations which I think characterize young Obama and Clinton ...

  • Re: Birth Order and IQ

My older brother and I have never taken IQ tests, but he attended a small HBCU in Pennsylvania, majored in computer science, and now teachers computer courses in a Baltimore high school. I attended a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts, just graduated magna cum laude in English, and am now a reporter for a small newspaper in DC. There ...
