  • Who pulls the trigger? You?

Thanks Prudie for the insigh into you twisted little mind. I really do mean little too. I thought I had seen it all untill a few minutes ago then............Bam, some low grade internet advice hack has to weight in on the matter of slandering a great democratic candidate and former First Lady of The United States of America. • Re: Pantyhose used to be a great barrier...

How about incorporating cinnamon into the plastics or glues used in the housing for the computers? Most ants hate cinnamon and putting cinnamon solutions across door jams & windows keeps them out of houses. Why not computers? Don't know if cinnamon will have the same affect on this particular species tho...

  • I had to write this

I wanted to actually write a similar post on a different article from way more recently. But I lost the article after I read it, and looked all over the internet, using google, and windows live search, and apparently, couldn't find it, I wonder why. The article I'm reffering to is one of a similar subject, it's about my generation, the facebook ...

  • The Linux Option

The article briefly mentions the ''virtual desktops'' that have been a standard feature of Linux for years; I find these very useful to reduce desktop clutter and distraction.I also use a plain text editor, though nothing quite as drastic as WriteRoom.  But it took me only about five minutes to reconfigure my editor, Kwrite, to resemble WriteRoom. ...

  • MicroYahoo!

I was appalled to hear of Microsoft's bid for Yahoo! Back in the fall of 1995, with my brand new Gateway workstation, my very buggy Windows 95 operating system (crashed at least three times a day), I began looking for another ISP and e-mail host other than AOL. Lo and behold, MSN was available, strongly recommended by Gate's entourage of slick ...

  • Why am I reading Slate?

Clutter-free interfaces are a fashion and a trend like any other, with some substantive offerings and in other ways meaningless. Most new writer's programs are arriving equipped with some sort of fullscreen and clutterless option, including Journier, StoryMill, Avenir, Scrivener, and so on. (These are all Mac programs simply because I'm a Mac ...

  • Re: Buying a laptop, need advice!!

I am not an expert, but I've purchased quite a few laptops over the years - personally I like IBM machines, because they are so amazingly durable (seriously, I've dropped a Thinkpad 10 feet onto a tile floor and it still works - I'm using that same laptop to post this message). You may also want to check 3Luxe's (a curated product review site ...

  • A sign of the Apocalypse?

The WSJ was, a respected business journal, until now. It is a sad day for unbiased media, I believe that may be an oxymoron. It is a sad commentary on the state of affairs in this country when a once trusted medium of current business viewpoints, perspectives and news will now become the ''unfair and unbalanced'' paper just as Fox and Sky News has ...

  • Technophobia Repair

Consider writing up a list for your parents on how to use each of the web sites they commonly request your help with. You can break it down by topic (travel, restaurants, movies, etc.) and summarize the directions for them so that they can refer to your write-up each time they need help. This way it doesn't cost them a local computer helper's fee ...

  • Re: Why so much emotion?

Lol. That's not bad. I think you got the idea down nicely. Just a couple things I'd say to clarify, I guess. Yeah, there's some advanced things you could do with existing Pocket PCs that might be complicated. However, for the most part their operation is pretty similar to Windows PCs. They've got a Start button and everything. You push Google ...
