  • In my experience...

Drinking at altitude and at sea level does have slight differences. As a local of Boulder, CO and a part-timer of Keystone, CO, I know that drinking higher up leads to a faster, more thorough drunk. Whenever I visit sea level, or even come down from 9,000 feet, I can drink more, or have a higher tolerance. I do think that the research presented ...

  • Belated reply:

coming home from work last night, parked the car out front (among several mountain ash & golden ash trees) for easy access, looked up at a gorgeous, cloudless sharp blue sky and heard: birdsong. Thanks for a great post, DC. (Life is good.) ''L.''

  • Disagree w. you Jack on her motives ...

but I do hope she succeeds, nonetheless. Pls. see post to you above. And omygawd, you should have seen Mount Evans this morning, all blanketed with full coat of snow -- stunning!! The entire Front Range mountains were covered with it, and lower down in the Foothills, laced with it like a tattered antimacassar. bright blue sky in the background, ...

  • Sports Nut's Annual MLB Predictions thread

Yes, it's back, by popular (read: my own) demand, Sports Nut's annual MLB Predictions thread. Simply list the winners of all 6 divisions, the 2 wildcard teams, and how the playoffs will play, um, off, plus any other happenings that might, um, happen. Then we will ridicule you. Start ridiculing me...now! NL East....Phillies. Oh, how I hate to ...

  • Rebuttal from the Rockies

Okay, not strictly from the Rockies. I am not affiliated with any professional baseball team and I currently live in Brooklyn. The thing is the Rockies did damn well. If it weren't for the eight day layoff they might have made a series of it. Games 2-4 were somewhat competitive and the Rockies were just finding their bats by the time the series ...

  • Two more suggestions

One that's routinely given around here is to only water in the early evening or morning, or at night. The cooler it is when you water, the less that will evaporate. Watering less often, but more deeply is also supposed to be good for encouraging root development. Do your homework. My mom found a specialty garden supply in Denver called ...

  • Pacific Northwest???

From the Article: ''The shoes' original home was Boulder, Colo. The early Crocs customer was probably a Pacific Northwesterner who liked to boat or garden—this was a niche shoe, after all.'' Since when did Colorado join the Pacific Northwest? Is Kentucky now a part of the Northeast? How the hell can Colorado get any credit for grunge ...
