Best Coffee
I agree that Dunkin Donuts is the best of the three. Never could understand why Starbuck's was so popular. What I want to know is which coffee out there comes closer to the 60 rating? None of the three you've tested even come close according to your survey.

Consistency?
Forgive me if someone's already said this--I can't see the other comments yet--but I'm curious about another kind of consistency. The picky food-geek in me would like to see the tasters sample coffee from two or more different locations of each chain. I've worked in four restaurants where I had to make coffee, and it's the only food/beverage out ...

Blind coffee taste test
Getting to know your favorite coffee is like falling in love. You catch its scent and wish it were cradled in your hands, warming them, like no other could. You visit the coffee house with the intentions of enjoying yourself and always make plans to return for another warm up. As the relationship deepens you want to know the profile, origin, and ...

A little un-named sandwich shop in Key West had 'em all beat
The survey outcome was, imho, predictable. I knew Dunkin' served a good cup of coffee. Starbucks is partly responsible for spoiling my affinity for the taste of coffee, having completed a job started by the U.S. Navy (26 years of bad coffe on ships at sea) ... but then, for me, coffee was always mostly a delivery device for sugar into my ...

B E S T......C O F F E E....?
I pride myself in being a totally independant-minded, and very, very proud person. (In fact, I found the perfect definition of my personality in a line spoken early on in the original DARK SHADOWS TV series. Joan Bennett, as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, speaks the deathless lines: ''I am too proud to be a normal human being.'' Yep -- that's ...

I wish my stomach let me have all the coffee I want...
I love a hot cup of coffee shop brew, especially accompanied by a sweet pastry of some kind. (You are right, sweetening, either applied directly to the coffee or consumed concurrently, does hide a lot of sins.) Starbuck's has improved just in recent weeks. But I can only handle one or two cups a week at the most before I am struck down by the ...

Coffee
I agree with the assessment of straight coffee from Starbucks. It tastes like bitter oil. But their lattes are good, better than the chain alternatives listed in the article. McDonalds has the worst latte ever. I tried it once and would never try it again. It was horrid (please pronounce the 'o' in horrid like a native Minnesotan to gain a ...

Ridiculous
My wife was always a fan of Duncan Donuts' coffee. When we got a Starbucks, she tried it and loved it. We've been to many Duncan Donuts since then, and she has been disappointed every time. It's just not a real ''coffee taste.'' Now we've stopped going to DD's altogether. Mickey-D's coffee isn't bad, but we find it very inconsistent. Of course, we ...

Too Sweet and Pretty
I think your panel must have a sweet tooth. I find that McDonald's cappuccino is entirely too sweet for my taste. I also don't understand why appearance is important in a cup of coffee you are getting in a hurry! Another important aspect of coffee is it's ''kick'' of caffeine. That should have been included in the ratings. A problem I have with ...
