  • Lost Our Cotten-Pickin' Minds F-22

I am a liberal: a liberal amount of freedom and a liberal amount of force when someone tries to take it away. Now I realize that its a popular notion the cold war is over and Russia and China - two of the most oppressive and aggressive nations on earth have some how morphed into benevolent capitalist but the reality is the only reason we are not ...

  • Recent US led Afghan Airstrike Violate International Law

International Law is explicit about civilian protection, including but not limited to Article 51, 52 and 57 of Protocol 1 of the 1949 Geneva Conventions. When I was in the military at the end of the Vietnam War, the base commander would gather together all airmen to watch films of Soviet bombers and figther air craft. The idea was to motivate us why we stand alert to a ''first strike''. Of course, nuclear missiles and bombs primarily served as a deterrent to a ''first strike'', with the idea of ...

  • Cannot Fix U.S. Military Without Fixing U.S. Society and Eco

I wonder what the ''military brat'' elected U.S. Senator from Virginia, a Democrat named James or Jim, thinks about your comprehensive and exhaustive prescription for improvements to our U.S. Military. Only a military officer who has been elected to public office, it seems, is entitled to offer an opinion, since remember: our national military ...

  • 'Lost' Nukes Expose Gaps in US Command and Control

On August 30, 2007, six advanced cruise missiles (ACMs) armed with nuclear warheads were mounted under the wings of a B-52H at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota and flown to Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, apparently without the authorization or knowledge of the nuclear arsenal command structure. This was first reported by the Military Times ...
