Re: Wrong Conclusion
Dobbsfox is certainly right that this is not completely a game of chance. But I think Alex-Caple states the counter argument well: Videos are not uploaded into a fair environment where they all have an opportunity to become popular if they are deserving. I love Charlie Bit Me as much as the next guy--maybe I should have disclosed that 50 of those ...

Video views on YouTube
My two videos ''Got Stung'' and ''Red Dress'' from Vince Vance and the Valiants have both received over 3000 views a piece. I think their pretty good considering they were produced in 1984 and cost about 5 dollars to make. The Valiants have a huge fan base across the country so no doubt that has driven the views higher.

Re: one million You-Tube views
I'm not certain what you mean by ''Google hits'' -- perhaps referrals from the search engine? I imagine the denominator here would be nearly impossible to measure.

Bandwidth Grows on Trees in Specific Orchards Only: Opinion
After reading, “According a recent report by analysts at the financial-services company Credit Suisse, Google will lose $470 million on the video-sharing site this year alone from YouTube, which Google bought in 2006,” by Manjoo, Farhad April 14, 2009, my kneejerk response is: Google should charge for the service of personal video sharing based ...

Advertisers are wimps
I wonder if they've done any tests. Would an ad associated not with the content but with the youtube service necessarily make users relate the ad to the video of the drunken-helium-sucking-boob-grabbing subjects? Say, an ad running next to the video frame, rather than a video tacked on to the content. Why would advertisers have to pick ...

Complete Stupidity
As the father of a child with Autism, I don't see how ANYONE can find humor in what is a truly traumatic disorder for both the autistic and the people around them. I have observed how people react when exposed to a person with autism, their responses being almost unanimously ignorant when the child or person has an autistic reaction: ''Why do you ...
