Thanks for Researching This, Rather Than Healthy Family Life
The complete and inane turpitude of every aspect of American life and attitudes and values continues to astonish me, over time. I would guess that no American living today under the age of 20 or 30 knows or can conceive of the Great American Family as I experienced it, along with so many other Americans, in the 1950s and 1960s here in America. I ...

Massahs
While I personally lean toward Obama among Dems, I think Hillary’s remark about LBJ moving MLK’s work into legislation is spot on and is not the least bit disrespectful of MLK or any other civil rights icon. For it’s own sake, the American black politic has to get over the silly and racist notion that they get to command the way all other ...

I don't buy it
I don't buy the author's argument at all. Here's why: it doesn't make sense. Cosby and others of his mentality are trying to tell us as black people that our situation will only improve if we choose to improve it. That stance is hugely different from the opinion that black people must become whites' equals before other indices of accomplishment ...

As long as blacks in america keep the mentality that they have to follow and not lead, social equality will not be for some time. Growing up poor I learned early what it took to become successful in america. I knew I didn't want to follow what ...

You missed the point
Bill Cosby sends messages to the African American community about personal responsibility, conduct and education. His speeches are a reminder of what we were trying to obtain in the 70's following civil rights. Todays African American community in some ways are taking us backwards instead of forwards with it's morals and values. There will always ...

must KNOW SELF to know desired
At twenty suttin, I've been with and around many different ages and races, which exposes a wide range of preferences and dating desires. I conclude and still discuss with many singles, that most women don't ''find'' the men they are looking for because they don't know what they want; they don't know what they want because they don't know ...

A Slate editor solves the mysteries of headline writing.
I think it's safe to say that those of us who saw the caption ''The Myth of the Asian Fetish'' on the front page (which will be gone in a few days or less) have been had. It's worth noting here that titles in Slate often (always?) contain puns, offensive references, or misleading nonsense designed to draw you in rather than accurately describe ...
