slate v doesn't work for me
Whenever I click a link from the home page to view a particular video, there is never anything there. No video. Just the text and a link to discuss. ''Did you see this'' still works fine, though. Is it just me who has this problem?

The Man's Low Self Esteem is the Real Story
Actually, part of his story is likely true. He probably did move to a new city, but in reality, he is lonely and has low self esteem. And he probably has an attractive female neighbor, but doesn't have the self confidence to approach her. So he has concocted a fantasy about her and her friends. And there is probably a really attractive friend ...

Re: It's not Video or Nothing
I know this thread is a year old, but I am so tired of being frustrated with the videos (I've been patient for ages!) that I have to come say something now. I HATE being taunted with a tantalizing headline or graphic only to see I can only get the content in video form. I love reading Prudie. I want to get as much content of hers as I can. The ...

Clinton as Tracy Flick
I should have known better, but I looked at it anyway. I guess I did it because I love Election. You know, I'm just too tired of the candidates being sized up on their personalities - or rather, what we think we know about their personalities - to even think this was an amusing idea. It seems much more highschoolish to come up with this ...

Prudie's bathroom literature advice dangerously wrong
In ''When good co-workers have bad bathroom habits,'' a Slate home page ''video Prudie'' that started automatically, Prudence for Slate V advised that reading magazines left in public bathrooms is completely safe. She authoritatively stated in an authoritative manner: ''Believe me, the reading material is safe.'' She is flat out wrong. What's ...

Mute the front page or I'm out of here.
(Reposted with a more-appropriate title.) I'm not a big fan of internet video in general - it's not yet something that the web is really good at. But I can sympathize with your reasons for starting Slate V. It lets your writers/correspondents/personalities become more than just a name on the page, it lets you do more things with stories about ...

Slate's Romney Ad: You forgot to insult his wife!
I thought the Slate Ad for Romney was, unfortunately, way below the belt. It's not enough to go after Romney, you have to indirectly call Romney and his sons cowards for not having joined the military? So, let me get this straight; if we support our troops in the field, but we've never served in the military, we are cowards? Or perhaps it is ...

Slate V's Advertisements
As a user of ''free'' online media, I do wearily submit to the fact that revenue has to come from somewhere and that ads are necessary. However, the ''Infiniti'' ads on Slate V make me want to run away from my computer. I can see having to watch a video ad at the beginning of each Slate V ''session'' or after seeing so many videos, but at the ...

Feedback on Slate V
The criterion you should use to decide on video vs. text is how appropriate each medium is for the content. Obviously, the best medium for the interview between Kinsley and Fox was video. That interview on video was much more valuable to us than it would have been in type.
