Libby sure, but not Wilkes
You say in the article that ''Wilkes cooperated with federal investigators in the Cunningham case, and that could help him win a pardon.'' Wrong answer. The Cunningham case was a huge embarrassment for Republicans. Sure that makes the odds of pardoning Cunningham himself less likely, but it also means the people who cooperated with prosecutors ...

Why I'm an American in Exile...
On June 13th, 2007, I received a death threat from someone claiming to be a member of the US Intelligence community. What was my ''crime''? I blew the whistle on the election fraud of 2004. Why did the CIA feel threatened by this? Because I revealed how they smuggled cocaine into the US using a front company called ''Skyway Communications''. ...

FEDERAL EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & the Neo-Con
(Ring....Ring...) ...''Hello! This is the White House. I'm sorry that no one is here to answer the phone right now but with THIS administration IS THAT REALLY A BIG surprise? ... Anyway... Should someone show-up next week, I'd be happy to pass along your distress for having no one here to respond to your distress in your hour of need! ... I ...

The one who used her name
I'm puzzled. Rove said that Armitage was the one who ''used her name.'' But didn't Novak look it up in Who's Who? Aha. I see you subscribe to the immaculate leak theory of Plameogenesis. It's true that Novak started making that claim after the investigation began, but a couple of months earlier he told some reporters from Newsday, ''I didn't dig ...

Muddy the issue?
You say, ''Clinton has given the White House and Republicans an opportunity to muddy the issue''? Clinton didn't inject the pardons of Bill Clinton into this fray - it only took Tony Snow three questions into his press conference the morning after the commutation (July 3) to talk about ''the rash of pardons and commutations at the end of the ...

Hard Work, Nobility and Sacrifice
Bush left it to his Aids, explaning how and why he commuted Libby's sentence. If there had to be an explanation, right then and there, something smelled. Bush couldn't do the explaning as it became to detailed and Bush would probably mess up. It certainly would have been easier to just tell the truth but, why set a presedent, truth has not been ...

Bush Hypocrisy in libby Commutation
tis truly sad that individuals like Bush, Cheney, Rove, Perle, Wolfowitz, Rice et al can denigrate all that the USA stands for with selfish motives. You can bet that Libby will not even blush when he is employed by a corporation to speak for an enormous fee to assist in paying the $250m fine while the rest of the world, including a majority in the ...

Re: Scooter Blow-Back
I totally agree with you about the arrogance of this administration and Republicans in general. I just have one question: How did ''Scooter'' get his nickname? Is he known for rubbing his butt on the carpet after he has a bowel movement? Isn't that something that people name their dogs? I apologize to any dogs I might have inadvertently ...

"Scooter" commutation!
When those who ''outed'' Valerie Plame don't even get a judicial ''slap on the wrist'', why should ''Scooter'' Libby wear prison uniform?http://osi-speaks.blogspot.com/2007/07/though-premature-bushs-commutation-of.html#links

Timothy Noah on Libby Sentence
Noah has definitely been chewing on strange mushrooms. Perjury is a major offense especially when it involves domestic or international affairs. Perjury involving a private sexual encounter is not in the same league. No question that the commutation of sentence is the first step roward a pardon in order to assure that Libby does not testify as to ...
