It appears that using the internet for sending love messages (or anything else which is priavte) is less safe, and secure than sending letters. Anything tht you ever send on the internet can be recovered. Anything.

He Should Not Resign!
Sanford should remain as Governor of South Carolina; that way he will be a constant reminder of the family values wing of the Republican Party. Then he should make a serious run for President, sucking up dollars and air time that might more effectively be used by another candidate. Please, Guv, stand by your mistress!

Not a Wet Eye in the House
Men who have no pity can expect none. Mark Sanford would probably be pleased to be described as the ''anti-Clinton,'' but it is, partly, for that very reason that I cannot join John Dickerson's blubbering sobfest. People derided Clinton for saying ''I feel your pain,'' but you know that at some level he was telling the truth. Clinton had ...

The "E" In E-Mail Stands for Evidence.
Before I read the smarmy e-mails between Mark and Maria I thought the dumbest things Governor Sanford did were to park his state care at an airport, fly to Argentina, get it on, not tell anyone where he was (or where he wanted people to think he was) and not arrange for his caretaker Governor to assume power in his absence. All of that was dumb ...

I admit
nothing. Not all republicans are bible-thumping, melanophobic/homophobic pencil-dicks. And not all bible-thumping, melanophobic/homophobic pencil-dicks are republican.

Sanford as Hippie Extraordinaire
Sanford in Argentina on a soul journey with a sometimes-mistress instead of taking his other option, which was backpacking the Appalachians? He's an old-school hippie who just needs to recognize it and admit it so that he can admit he's been a racist and apologist for the Southern aristocracy and make something better of his life. If he can bring ...

Sanford
This is classic Slate: Take a calculatedly contrary position on a hot-button issue, then watch us liberals go into a frenzy as we rush to comment on The Fray. Well-played, Slate.

The Glee Over Sanford's Fall
The 'glee' you describe is due to the fact that it is Sanford and others of his ilk who are 'heartless'. They pontificate about how others should live their private lives, pass laws to deny others the rights they themselves enjoy, Sanford voted to impeach Clinton over just this behavior, yet he doesn't resign. It's called Hypocrisy, and I do enjoy ...

World's Dumbest Father's Day Weekend!
I don't take glee at the downfall of any family, or any public figure, hero or foe. But for myself I won't deny that while flipping through the morning newspapers these political scandals stop me and make me read the entire article. There are three basic categories of recent sex scandals as far as I can figure: (1) sad episodes that evoke mainly ...
