    Thank you for your answer... As you have discovered, Alaska is a gorgeous place with tremendous natural resources. Mining is an important industry in Alaska, but it shouldn't (and needn't) be carried out at the expense of other industries and the environment.     Approximately 20% of Alaska voters turned out for the 2008 Alaska Primary which included four ballot measures.
