    Wrenn... thank you very much for your information and the accompanying link. You seem quite knowledgeable on the subject of music licensing. (Don't work for Sony, do you? - just kidding!) From what I understand, the RNC needed their own individual license to legally use the song ''Barracuda'' and couldn't just rely on the limited ASCAP license ...

    The Republican National Convention was being held in the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Minnesota, who did have a license to use the song for certain specific sporting events... specifically hockey and lacrosse. It is unclear whether the RNC held a seperate license which would have been required of them to legally use the Heart song ...
