Failure to Admit Blagojevich Appointee to Senate Big Mistake
Failure to Admit Illinois Governor Blagojevich's Appointee, the eminently qualified and well reputed Roland Burris, to the United States Senate will prove to be a supremely Big Mistake made by the Democratic Senate Leadership and yes, Barack Obama. News today is that the U.S. Senate will seat 59 Democratic Senators, including their Candidate ...

Good Questions. I Would Like to See Eliot Spitzer a Senator
Sometimes, you judge a politician by that politician's enemies. Spitzer has all the right enemies, including the ''Masters of the Universe'' on Wall Street, who cheered and toasted his political demise recently, and then promptly threw our American economy ''under the bus.'' Besides, if Bill Clinton can make a political comeback, why not the ...

More documentation of Journalistic Objectivity
At least here in the US we have to read the article to see what the personal feelings of our reporters are...to this point, at least.

Reporters should elicit facts, not give opinions
The ideas in the article are interesting, but I disagree strongly with his criticism of Russert for not picking sides. His job...any professional journalist's...is to elicit factual statements. In politics, it means getting the office holder to lock himself in clearly as to various positions. This Russert did better than any other in my memory ...

Re: Other reasons for caution abound
Cracker:Maybe journalists are cautious after swallowing the whole yellow cake? Or maybe they're moderating because they don't want to see a potentially nuclear slug-fest between longtime enemies Pakistan and India? Or maybe they're reluctant to make Pakistan any more defensive than it is, given US incursions into its airspace? Overall, I agree ...

The Big Bailout...Ha!
There is no need for a bailout of the bank when we can bail them out through tax payer spending...heres how: America has fought hard to become an independent nation and a leader in innovation, so how can we fix our current economic downtrend efficiently? Some seem to think that throwing money at the corporations who failed us is the answer…we all ...

Worst Candidate ALWAYS Wins U.S. Elections
Looking back on United States Presidential Election History, I have concluded that the WORST Candidate ALWAYS Wins the Election for the U.S. Presidency. I could cite all the examples, such as Wendel Wilkie, Adlai Stevenson, Richard Nixon, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and George H. Walker Bush (Senior) along with George W. Bush (Junior); but you get ...

Dahlia Lithwick Uses Recipes to Write a Legal Column About..
... ABORTION. Lithwick's very idea that women do not have reproductive choice, if they cannot extinquish the life growing in their own wombs, is in and of itself faulty. I mean, my God, did the female have sex with the guy, or did she not? As to being ''for change'' in everything but pro-Abort American policies at home and abroad, not everyone ...

Re: Is The Media Bias? Here is Evidence of Bias
Media bias is a perceived notion that certain press has and is pushing a viewpoint, instead of reporting news or airing programs in an objective way. That is the way I see it. Such bias often refers to media as a whole, such as a newspaper chain, or a given television or radio network, instead of individual reporters or writers of television ...

Is The Media Bias? Here is Evidence of Bias
How the Media Vote. Surveys of journalists’ self-reported voting habits show them backing the Democratic candidate in every presidential election since 1964, including landslide losers George McGovern, Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis. In 2004, a poll conducted by the University of Connecticut found journalists backed John Kerry over George W. ...
