Why you should hit your kids

Spare the Rod
This article is ridiculous. I was spanked as a child and also spanked my children of whom are all grown now. I have never been violent with anyone or anything and my three kids are the same. None of them would hurt a fly and have all grown into very well rounded strong successful and loving adults with no mental problems. As a matter of fact, ...

I'm not buyin' what you're sellin'...
Some may believe that it has been ''scientifically proven'' that spanking doesn't work, but not this little girl. I am exhibit A... When I was young, I got spanked a couple times and smacked in the mouth one time when I talked back to my mother. Let me tell you what... that was enough for me. I was a good child all the way through my teenage years ...

Worst Candidate ALWAYS Wins U.S. Elections
Looking back on United States Presidential Election History, I have concluded that the WORST Candidate ALWAYS Wins the Election for the U.S. Presidency. I could cite all the examples, such as Wendel Wilkie, Adlai Stevenson, Richard Nixon, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and George H. Walker Bush (Senior) along with George W. Bush (Junior); but you get ...

The Mommy Veep
I write this as a mom, and a feminist, and a workingmomfeminist, knowing that I'm probably going to get flamed for saying it but unable to stop myself nonetheless. I have an autistic son. One. He's incredibly high functioning, eight, in third grade, and the love of my life. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to launch myself into a ...

setting up the obama stage
The curtain rises and there she is, standing under a single spotlight, center stage. She is very pregnant, just in time tor the polls to open, just in time to steal any last minute thunder McCain might offer. She is wearing a Jackie Kennedy hairdo and hat. WELL, it could happen, couldn't it?

I left my son in San Francisco
I loved this article. I easily related to most everything this mother referenced and I appreciated her honesty. I too, have always been an alpa mom. I worried and felt that I was doing more for my children then I should have at certain times in their lives. After raising two daughters and one son who are now all young adults, I have realized ...

it's pernicious to blame mothers
The Bible says that we should not suffer the sins of fathers on their sons. We need an equivalent principle for suffering the accidents of children on their mothers. Look, the reality is that parenting is about the art of balancing competing principles, not a marionette act where parents (really mothers, because they seem to get all the blame for ...

stuffed animal scrooge
When I think of the fun and happiness that I had with my many stuffed animals--each of which had a name and persona--during childhood, I cringe at the thought of having this author as my parent. Yes, I wished upon a star every night that my stuffed animals would come to life, and even to this day when I am fully grown up for many years, I feel sad ...

Married Parents
I was very disappointed to see this article. A wedding ceremony does not a happy family make. Lots of us older 30+ mothers have lots to say.....but hey hey hey ...slag off the poor, youngsters. Whatever the media form, snobs are horrid and tyrannise the weak. I am a good mother living happily with the love of mylife/his father . Why don't you ...

Breast Feeding = Higher IQ?
IIn my opinion, Breast Feeding Cy opinion breast feeding CAN be a way to increase IQ. But it is only ONE way. And if Breast Feeding is the ONLY good thing a baby experiences, breast-feeding will probably help only minimally....if at all. I mean.....was Nero breast-fed? Probably. Was Caligula or Ivan the Terrible? Yes, there too. Bottle ...
