  • Obama’s Challenges in the Campaign’s Final Days, from A to Z

The video. This is a radically different version of my earlier video, for which I forgot to put in a disclaimer that I was not buying into the criticisms, but merely listing them. The same goes for this one, although it is more upbeat in tone. Here is the script: “A” is for [A]CORN, a group which gets out the vote. Right-Wingers have (falsely) ...

  • Guilt By Association

Well, if we're going to play the Guilt by Association game — let's go! Perhaps McCain would like to explain these associations to the American people, including why he chose to appear on G. Gordon Liddy's radio show less than a year ago and praise him. <a ...

  • Criminal Associations

This whole thing is a crock. Geoerge Bush and Dick Chenney make Bill Ayers look like a Girl Scout, and at least to me, Bill Ayers was on the right side of the issues. Talk about bombs, death and destruction. Anyone who supports George Bush should be disqualfied from serving in public office.

  • Ayers schmayers

This Ayers issue thing just isn't getting any traction at all, because, frankly, it really really doesn't matter. Ayers was exonerated of all charges in any case. A host of newspapers have investigated and found nothing. We conclude that Ayers was, to all intents and purposes, yes, a guy who lived in Obama's neighborhood. You can live in someone's ...

  • McCain: Call Chicago a Terrorist-loving Haven

Finally! Someone besides Mayor Daley, who last spring issued a statement commending Bill Ayers for his work on behalf of Chicago Public Schools and argued against focusing on a 40 year old past, has spoken out. If McCain wants to damage Obama for serving on the board of the Annenberg Foundation, let him take on the other Board members, too. ...

  • Past imperfect

In the news we see Governor Palin questioning Senator Obama’s acquaintance with William Ayers, asking what he knew about Mr. Ayers’s past, and when. I'm a little surprised that I see no one responding with what seems to me an obvious question. In the VP debate Governor Palin dismissed discussion of the recent, and indisputably relevant, ...

  • Barack Obama's Campaign Difficulties, from A to Z

A is for ''an Academic'', is he too much of one? And does this mean he's unable to have down-home fun? B is for ''too Black or not black enough,'' is he the former or the latter, and If we've transcended race, does it really matter? C is for ''dealing with Hillary Clinton'', now there's a sticky wicket! Can he assuage her supporters without ...
