  • Popeye in Taiwan

    When I was studying Chinese in Taiwan in 1968, it seemed that the main things on TV were in terminable Taiwanese operas (with Mandarin subtitles) and unending sequences of Popeye Cartoons in English (with Mandarin subtitles). I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today!
