  • Doubtful.

I don't know if you have grandchildren, dems rock, but I certainly was one -- and all these many years later, I look back on a lot of things they(**) did and said and man, were they ever right. I just wish they were around, so I could redeem my sometimes teen-snotty behavior to them. And offer some well-deserved apologies. (**) And my parents, ...

  • Very well-done, Laurie ...

and clearly from the heart. I thought the Thanksgiving offerings here this year were wonderful, appropriate to the true spirit of the day ... and quite heart-warming. Was glad to read them. As for the Christmas mad shopping dash, I find it annoying and almost offensive. Thanksgiving should be more ... pure, somehow. It's never been a commercial ...

  • I'm not a conservative, not in the least.

What a short memory you have. I defend Governor Palin, woman to woman. (A position you, yourself, might learn something about, Oh Attacker of Senator Hillary Clinton...)

  • Re: You are correct, but

Thanks for that. I was referring more to the other implications of 'limp-wristed,'' dear friend. There was a clueless but sweet & natively bright (**) 14-year-old at the Thanksgiving dinner I went to yesterday, and your comments above re: the generations & how the young ones wake up at a certain point, could not have been more on-point. ...

  • Re: It's not that simple, mom. Lots of GOOD ...

mom, I'm not talking about the OIL or o&g companies, themselves. I'm talking about the suppliers, especially the service providers, such as architecture & engineering firms, construction companies, etc. and their employees. The oil companies themselves are ridiculously overly profitable, to be polite. I'd like to see Obama & this ...

  • It's not that simple, mom. Lots of GOOD ...

US companies are getting hurt in this mess. See below. Anything bad that happens to Halliburton/KBR is fine with me but the other companies do NOT deserve the losses they will now incur.

  • Mother Jones! M.A., you are just ...

so full of surprises, woman! Who would have thought? As to your question, sad to say, NO, I don't think they have the guts. You? And I do feel it's needed -- more regulation of the financial markets and companies, but a sensible, ''Reality-based'' approach to further regulation. Thanks for the link.

  • So he makes some good $$ ...so what?

That's THE American Way, after all. What's your problem -- can only Republicans make a lot of money in the USA, is that it?

  • Re: Colored Perceptions

Excellent response, thank you sodak. (I was not for Obama last year and the raw inexperience was a huge part of my position; as was my long-time support of, and dedication to, Hillary Clinton.
