Jim Dale, audiobook superstar
Thanks for mentioning the great Jim Dale. I have not listened to the Harry Potter series (I read them to my children), but Mr. Dale did a fantastic job on a book I had never read, Peter Pan. My children, my parents, and I listened to it on a trip to visit my brother, and we all enjoyed it tremendously. If you have only seen the Disney movie (I had ...

Nice try, Wu, but no cigar.
Unfortunately, the Harry Potter Lexicon does not provide scholarly analysis or commentary. As revealed in the trial, over 90% of the Lexicon is copied word-for-word from Rowling's works, and around 7% more is either public quotes from Rowling or quotes from third parties. A very small percentage contains translations of Latin words (easily found ...

It's funny, but...
At the end of this piece, it's supposed to be a stab at the younger voters for not standing by Barack Obama unconditionally. But, isn't unconditional devotion to someone like a presidential candidate a little scary? Haven't the ''Gen X ers'' learned well enough in the last eight years that you have to be careful whom you trust and elect in ...

What is the book about again?
I notice that in the article and in many of the posts it does not mention what the book(s) are about. The main description given is that the Lexicon's book is going to be an analsys on the HP Universe. Considering that many books are already out on that subject, and all have not been stopped or sued by Ms. Rowling it would seem odd that she ...

Do Your Homework, Slate.
I am a huge fan of Slate. I was dismayed when I saw such misrepresentation of facts in this article. First, a disclaimer: I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so I am maybe a teensy bit biased. The HP Lexicon does not offer analysis. Note the difference between this and, say, ''MuggleNet.com's What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7,'' the authors of ...

journalists and their "facts"
This author needs to check their facts. JKR didnt file the suit, Warner Bros. did. She actually liked the site in question. The site is attempting to profit on what they are currently posting online for FREE.

No way Lexicon...
Okay, the problem here is that the book Lexicon intends to publish is not a discussion book, but an encylopedia, in which information is going to be copied verbatim from the books. When JKR's lawyers asked if they could recieve a preview copy of the book (before the law suit started) the lawyers of Steve Vanderark said something on the lines of ...

Rowling and $$
Hey Guys I am by far not a fan or defendant of the rich, but I do feel that Rowling is probably stuck between a rock and a hard place with legal issues. Remember she has publishers she has to answer to so there is a slight chance that her motivation has nothing to do with money. Secondly it may also be the way they approached the possibility ...

It only seems fair
My husband and I craft wands, we have been since 2004. When we first began, we were selling our wands on eBay. Warner Brothers pulled our products off the sellers list because they claimed exclusive rights on wands and the word ''giant.'' We don't make wands for Harry Potter fans, but that's what they thought we were doing - stomping on their ...
