  • I am a first time gun owner

I bought my first gun the day before the election. I joined the NRA on election night based on the outcome. I no longer feel safe in America.

  • The Big Bailout...Ha!

There is no need for a bailout of the bank when we can bail them out through tax payer spending...heres how: America has fought hard to become an independent nation and a leader in innovation, so how can we fix our current economic downtrend efficiently? Some seem to think that throwing money at the corporations who failed us is the answer…we all ...

  • The Great Game -- Anglo Amero Brits and Kamchatka!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waziristan Honestly, I do not know why it is, that I both love to read Christopher Hitchens every week, and disagree with his every point almost without exception. Maybe it is his ''the sun never sets on the British Empire'' world girdling perapatetic meanderings around the World Map of Current Events and political ...

  • Guns don't kill people...

The phrase ''Gun's don't kill people, People kill people.'' is often used by those who believe that the 2nd amendment should allow them unlimited access to any and every firearm they can afford. They use this argument to make the point that a weapon is a tool, and since we don't restrict the use or sale of shovels, or hammers, or knives etc., ...

  • Re: A Pragmatic Test

TheRanger: It is difficult to draw comparisons between the weapons of the 18th century with today. However, if you draw the analogy between soldiers at that time and currently then some logical deductions can be made. 1. The weaponry of the individual soldier is universally protected as a right. Musket and bayonet were considered protected. ...

  • Re: "Well regulated" militia

Sakura: There is absolutely no way any rational person could read the 2nd the way the anti-gun crowd wants is read. Not only is their reading contradictory to the rest of the Constitution itself, but every last word written by the founders concerning the matter. They may as well be claiming the earth is flat and was created 6000 years ...

  • Re: A Right for the Worst of Us

Faustling: Contrary to the impression created by the NRA, those convicted under our present gun laws are mainly very unsavory people: gang members, drug dealers, robbers, would-be terrorists, and people who make a living supplying them with guns. If the Supreme Court recognizes an individual right to bear arms (in 200 years, it never has), all ...

  • Re: Gun control, and Liberals shouldn't mix.

patron002:Ok, liberals complain about Bush taking away their rights, and not being able to do anything about it. Well imagine going a little further, where the government is taking away enough rights that you actually want to do something about it besides complain, oh wait, thats right you can't you don't believe you should be able to own a ...

  • Re: interpreting the second amendment is easy and simple

strongpoint: glenn harlan reynolds' excellent law-review article ''a critical guide to the second amendment'' [62 tenn. l. rev. 461-511 (1995)] is, IMHO, the best scholarly critique you'll find on the subject of second-amendment interpretation. ''The Standard Model is rooted in two main sources: the text of the Second Amendment and its ...

  • Re: The ulterior motives of the anti's

USNVETERAN: Why do opinion surveys show that most American citizens believe in the individual rights position? Some legal scholars call this widespread public conviction a ''hoax'' and ''false consciousness.'' It is these types who seek to undermine the RIGHT of every American to own a gun. I am an AMERICAN businessman, homeowner and ...
