Professional Journalism
I know you are professional journalists. A profession is a fancy Latin term for the way you express your belief in the one true God as you understand him. Mr. Webster describes profession as the act of taking the vows of a religious community, or: an act of openly declaring or publicly claiming a belief or faith: an avowed religious faith a: a ...

Where are YOU at?Bashing all including Reagan conservatives?
There was an article that I read that had an ineresting take on the whole thing. ''the liar the rasict and the warmonger'' http://www.nolanchart.com/article3282.html The author bashes Reagan conservatives and all three canidates. It pretty much explains where im at on the elections. I dont know who to vote for anymore. Do we want the same old ...

Maybe Ferraro should have Sullivan at her side
I can understand the argument that Obama's race benefits him when explained by Andrew Sullivan, however, that is not at all the way I understood Geraldine Ferraro's statements, which she has made repeatedly. Perhaps Ms. Ferraro needs to have Andrew Sullivan or Mickey Kaus follow her around and interpret what she means, assuming that IS what ...

The problem with an Obama nomination
Barack Obama will make a excellent President, but not yet. He is only two, or so years out of the Illinois State legislature. He just does not have the experience to be in charge of the mighty nuclear arsenal of The United States. He proved that by his decision to vote against the war in Iraq. Yes, that sounds crazy, but realize that the ...

Re: Austin Debate of Clinton vs. Obama
I can't even tell you how many posts I read by hand-wringing Democrats who are so tremendously troubled by the fact that Republicans seem to like Obama, by the fact that it's the young people who form the base of Obama's support, by the ''emotion'', by the ''herd-like mentality''. Obama was a Constitutional Law Professor. We are in a time of ...

A Young(er) Woman's Perspective....Why Hillary (not Gloria)
In recent days a steady stream of women have celebrated and lauded Gloria Steinem's recent piece in the NYT. Many encourage others to circulate the piece further. Respectfully, I disagree. Ms. Steinem's piece, though well intentioned I'm sure, pits the women's movement against the civil rights movement. Such false competition is divisive, ...

Re: Too Cute!
He can't say he had the idea before Darren, but a friend of mine did basically the same thing in a bit over a week and beat Darren to the punch. www.mcnarney.com These proud parents were home for the holidays in Iowa and decided baby William should have his picture taken with each of the candidates. Cute kids, both of them.

Obama understands speech's mobilizing power
Senator Clinton certainly denigrated the power of speech in a democracy in last night's debate in New Hampshire. But she should remember this ... When Cicero finished speaking, the people said, “My, how well he spoke.” When Demosthenes finished speaking the people said, “Let us march!” Candidates should strive to emulate Demosthenes. (It gets ...

God's Choice
************************************************************************************************* While both sides are invoking God's name in a bid to lure the Christian votes, Huckabee has emerged as the closest to God than the rest of the competion. From the dismal performance Mitt had at the recent debate it is clear that he is not in tune ...

N E G L E C T E D.....C O N S T I T U E N C Y..?
For better or worse, most people vote with their pocket-book. There is a group of people in the USA who are smart, who save their money, and actually want to pay more taxes! ( No, that is NOT a typo.....we DO want to pay more taxes! ) But we can't. Not in the USA. The government won't let us. Now, who the heck am I talking about? Those ...
