Glenn Gould
don't forget glenn gould's recording!
how can one mention Bach's the Art of Fugue and not mention the recording of same by Glenn Gould? Here's one of the great pianists of the 20th century also recording much of AOF on piano. This article lends the impression that great pianists didn't record this until now, and that's simply not true.

Who Needs A Music Industry Anyway?
Musicians from Bach to Robert Johnson stayed broke, and gave us the greatest music we have. Now musicians make millions and music sucks. Why not go back to the old way?

Ultimate Goldberg?

Roslyn Turek's Goldberg Variation
You didn't mention Roslyn Turek's version of the Goldberg Variations. In many ways, it is also a polar opposite of Gould's: Gould does the whole set in less than 40 minutes, while Turek takes about an hour and 40 minutes.
