  • Google Chrome OS will put PCs into hands of less fortunate

I think a lot of people on this side of the argument are missing a big piece of the picture in what Google is trying to accomplish. When you order a netbook w/ Windows on it, the cost averages around $500. Take Windows out of the equation and replace it w/ Google Chrome and that $200 off the sale price right there. This isn't about joining the OS ...

  • Forcast Of Failure Is A Bit Premature.

It doesn’t take a Tech analyst to have predicted Google’s OS move. While I work in the tech field, it really came as no shock that Google is diving into the OS game. I suggested this to friends that this was Google’s ultimate goal years ago. I do however, think your assessment is overly pessimistic. Clearly apps in browsers is the direction the ...

  • Mac's simply don't offer cheaper versions

I think the simple fact that Apple supports only the latest hardware in their Mac's is what keeps the price up. Many PC manufactures continue to use older CPU models and other hardware which they can pass this savings onto the consumer. In fact, this is not a bad thing because many user's do not require the latest hardware. When you compare the ...

  • Other than tweaking Apple, not memorable

Aside from the John Hodgman lookalike at the beginning, these ads remind me not so much of Apple's ads, but rather an earlier Microsoft ad campaign from several years ago, also very P.C., showing ordinary middle-class people from all over Europe and North America (and maybe South America, too) getting up in the morning, bathing, eating breakfast, ...

  • MS ads show they are still not getting it

Just my opinion, but I think MS still doesn't get it. Their new commercials are better than the awful Seinfeld ones but I think they're still missing the obvious point: Apple is selling *features* with their snootiness while MS is just responding to the snootiness. MS needs to pimp their features. Here's a (bad) example: guy sitting at ...

  • Microsoft VISTA why is it sooo bad?

Well, Microsoft is at it again. Poor design, and I think they lost their quality department in the mid 90's. I have a suggestion for the Microsoft Software Design Engineers... Use the system without administrator priviledges for once, and see how the rest of the world suffers. Maybe they should try using other operating systems to understand why ...
