Windows 7 is a bad value vs OS X esp home premium
You gloss over several things in your review. The most important one is that the 50 dollar Windows 7, the one most people will end up with (home premium) is a sad pathetic shadow of the 300 dollar Ultimate or license agreement only corporate editions of Windows 7. What do I mean by this? Well today, at work, I had to tell someone that ...

I disagree completely
I typically agree with your columns. I certainly appreciate your point of view. But I think you're off-base on this. There's a distinction you're not making here: Apple has NOT prevented the Pre from synching with Macintosh computers, they've prevented the Pre from synching with iTunes. The music in question, the mp3 and/ or AAC files are ...

Farhad Not Doing His Research
Farhad misses a major, major point in his column. There are other companies that make devices that synch quite happily with users' iTunes libraries. Research In Motion, for example, makers of the Blackberry. The difference is that RIM took the minor trouble to write its own synching software. It allows users to synch with their iTunes and WMP ...

Spot on...
...and the solution is a visionary who gets it with regards to usability, the experience and the effectiveness of the 'solutions' that are what people buy products for in the first place. A key asset that only Apple currently bring to the table. Not for long. ;)

Google's Android
An interesting look at the marketing of cell phones. All GOOGLE needs to do is change Android to GOOGLE- phone to catch the public's attention. Hope they try it!

And Google doesn't run on a public network?
From article: Radia's argument isn't crazy. Just the other day, I argued that the government shouldn't go after Google for antitrust violations because the tech industry is fluid Also from article: Yet that analysis misses a key point: The iPhone runs on public networks and therefore falls under government jurisdiction. Exactly what ...

Spotify
Spotify sounds great - even if you have to pay $16 bucks a month to receive ad free. I will be glad to see it come to America especially if you can take the music out!

Google Chrome OS will put PCs into hands of less fortunate
I think a lot of people on this side of the argument are missing a big piece of the picture in what Google is trying to accomplish. When you order a netbook w/ Windows on it, the cost averages around $500. Take Windows out of the equation and replace it w/ Google Chrome and that $200 off the sale price right there. This isn't about joining the OS ...

Forcast Of Failure Is A Bit Premature.
It doesn’t take a Tech analyst to have predicted Google’s OS move. While I work in the tech field, it really came as no shock that Google is diving into the OS game. I suggested this to friends that this was Google’s ultimate goal years ago. I do however, think your assessment is overly pessimistic. Clearly apps in browsers is the direction the ...
