Staring at me on the front page of my local rag this St. Patrick's Day was a grandfatherly picture of some old guy with head raised, looking skyward, jowls and furrows asunder, unmistakable eyes. It took me a moment to recognize him.

On this day of celebration of all thing Irish, Van Morrison is one thing Irish everyone can celebrate.
