The kitchen sink of excuses that Hitchens lays out to justify his continued support of the invasion boggles the mind. We "defeated" al-Qaida! We saved the wetlands! We were already involved in a "life-and-death" struggle with Iraq, so we might as well have invaded!

Lastly, it turns out that we're not fighting a war at all because he says it's not a war. (Ignore the fact that his pro-invasion buddies continue to use that word when they need to whip up public attention.)

In short, even though everything has gone wrong in Iraq, Hitchens was still right because... well, because he says so.
