Maybe this is old news to you, but, I always thought we were something of a backwater in the Fray. I just looked at the Fray "Most Active" list and Kausfiles Special is #3 based on the number of posts in the last 7 days.

Kausfiles will always be a backwater if the conspiracy nuts post here. Americaislost and the Milkmaid might post a lot but they never have anything worth reading. That goes for Riley and his ilk.

BossGreer gives the place some class but not enough to undo the reputation the Jew Haters gave us.

Remember the HISTORY of how the KFS came about? Several of us used to post on the regular Kausfiles.....and every time Mickey Kaus wrote a new article, a flood would bear down on us....the pages would roll over, sometimes in less than an hour, from the influx of replies to his article. Our own posts would be LOST in the muddied waters.

Some of us complained to Moira about it, and it was our beloved Moira who came to our rescue...finally convincing the powers in control at that time, that we 'needed a place' of our own...and she finally got them to agree...thus the KFS was born, and here we are:-) Instead of shriveling up and dying, we have thrived over the years...there have been a lot of rough spots...like when some of us jumed ship, and posted on other boards.

That crazy Geoff hered a bunch of us up, when he found us on War Stories, and much to our anger, 'herded' us back here to thie KFS board. It didn't set well, being told what we 'had to do, or else!', but it has breathed new life into this little board!

Back a few years ago, while Moira was still here, it sure didn't hurt any, that we had the regular weekly 'KFDR' radio show...the brain child of Phoenix, and who, like every OTHER successful CEO, delegated the work to Cat and myself, while he went out to play!

Those WERE the best days of this board...but then we have had GW Bush to write about...his antics, his failings (too numerous to list), his attitude, his ego, his thugs....history being written right here as we all choose up 'teams' and smell armpits!

I suggest a toast to Moira...God bless her heart....what a gal! And another one for all the posters who take part here...sharing, caring, and BLARING! It all comes together to make a great board in the end.

Long live the KFS as well!

See my post to MWG about the history of the KFS....We owe it all to Moira for getting us a 'home' before she left the Slate and went to England.

She used to take a BIG interest in our KFDR Radio show, a regular Sunday night event, that raked in the check marks, and drew a long thread of replies...100 or more was not uncommon at all:-)

We were often mentioned in Moira's weekly 'wrap-up' as well, which really helped.

It's nice seeing all the new posters here (Cameron above) and the old timers....the latter reminds me of a bunch of old people sitting around the wood stove, chewing tobacco while we chew the fat...like in the old days at the general store:-)

It's a good place to settle in, and read, or take part, either one.....even with the bickering.

I think our STRONG point, is that with the bickering, this is a much 'cleaner' board than the one called 'Best Of The Fray', although we DO have some really fould mouthed posters, once in awhile. Not very attractive at all, but people are people, and those are easily recognized as well:-)

The War Stories stampede (remember that, under threat of not being able to post?!) really turned out to be a boon to this board, and helped with it's revival.

Anyway, most of the 'gang' from there, are still here, strutting their stuff, and that's all that matters:-)

So we don't write anything worth reading, eh? Then why do you bother, and how would you KNOW whether it's worth reading or not?!

We didn't waste our time attacking each other during the early primaries over Republican candidates. But the LLL are at each others throats. And it's always over something personal. I don't think they even know their candidates' platforms. They can't see beyond Obama's skin color and Billary's sex.

candidates they will choose in 2008. They are tearing themselves apart because they are using the same tactics against one another that they used to undermine Bush and in so doing they are sewing the seeds of their own defeat.

But what the heck, they deserve to lose so it's all good.

candidates is because there was only one running who had a chance of winning the nomination and a chance of being elected President.

The Democrat's on the other hand had at least 6 legitimate contenders anyone of which had credentials enough to merit consideration.

The question is...did they narrow it down to the right two ? Which is irrelevant now...so the question now become will they destroy what was a sure win and in the process destroy the party.
