What She Said Wasn't Racist

The only way to claim her words as racist is to ignore what she actually said. To paraphrase, she stated that he is doing well because he is offering something completely different from Hillary Clinton, i.e. the first black man to be President as opposed to the first woman to be President. Yes, if he wasn't black, he wouldn't be the "first" anything. Yes, if he was a woman, he would merely split that with.

That is common sense.

That is also the truth and is not racist in any kind of way.

That might be somewhat plausible had she not made the same comment about Jesse Jackson. But she did. It seems that in the mind of Ferraro, to be a black man means you are unqualified to be president, but the sympathy votes (or something) will overcome your racial ineptitude.

Jesse Jackson wasn't qualified. Obama is (though not terribly experienced), and Ferraro didn't dispute that. Where'd she say or imply that he's unqualified? She just said it's why some voters are excited about him. Which seems indisputable.

So, Jesse Jackson wasn't a black guy running against a white person?

Damn, you are a complete idiot. Its the same exact situation. Get your head out of your ass.

"It seems that in the mind of Ferraro"

And thats not even close to what she said. She stated that his skin color separated him from Hillary, which is a fact. This was not a disqualifying character, not did it say that he would lose because of it. You are a damn idiot. She even stated that he was WINNING because of it. Damn.
