The Bush Administration apparently does not want a U.S. military study that found no direct connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda to get any attention. This morning, the Pentagon cancelled plans to send out a press release announcing the report's release and will no longer make the report available online.
The report was to be posted on the Joint Forces Command website this afternoon, followed by a background briefing with the authors. No more. The report will be made available only to those who ask for it, and it will be sent via U.S. mail from Joint Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia.

It won't be emailed to reporters and it won't be posted online

Did you think that just because taxpayers funded a study that showed conclusively there was no operational link between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and Al Qaeda that it would be released to the public? Well, this is the Bush administration we're talking about here, a group who've shown themselves over the years to be master manipulators of the truth and of the press.

Both ABC News and McClatchy have already published reports of the finding of the report, but who's going to be the one to sift through it all and let the public know that Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with al Qaeda. especially when dems, as witnessed on this site are much more interested in bashing Clinton and feigning mock horror at a statement blown out of context by Geraldine Ferraro..oh and of course Spitzergate (sex sex sex). This will probably go the way of Adm Fallon's resignation yesterday..nowhere! What happened to the Dems that "USED" to be interested in the war and torture and the economy and Katrina and keeping us out of another unprovoked war in Iran?

Yes, it is "old news". It's undeniable, provable, documented fact that 100% of the claims made by George W. Bush, including his promise he had proof to support them, used as the sole justification for starting his war turned out to be 100% false.

We've all know that for quite some time.

That includes all the false claims made by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and his cast of stooges that Saddam had any connection with al-Quida. It's "old news". We know he lied to all of us and his claims were groundless and without any basis of fact.

And no, the invasion and occupation of Iraq had nothing to do with Bush's "war on terra and terraist'. It was and is all about lining his and his corrupt cronies pockets with our tax dollars.

The report has already been widely reported. If he was blocking the report don't you think it would never have been available? If he was blocking the report why is he sending copies to those who ask for them?

The fact is the report is already out there and snipets have been reported (just the parts that support claims there was no DOCUMENTED connection between Al Quedia and Saddam)

The report acknologes that Al Quedia was training people in Northern Iraq before the war but could not find a paper trail to Saddam.

So really the fact Al Quedia was operating in Iraq without harrassment by Saddam/Iraq is also in the report.

You can print volumes with what the liberal media leaves out of a story.

Poor little petey, he think no one will remember all the false claims made by Bush that Saddam had direct ties to al-Quaida, helped fund them, harbored them, trained them, held meetings with them... all hogwast lies!

Good question. No wonder Congress has the lowest approvqal rating on record. They can not even impeach a guy who lied about war.

I personally think the Dems are keeping Chimpy McFlightsuit around for election season. That is why impeachment is off the table. President "Shit for Brains" is a walking advertisement as to why Conservatives can not be trusted to govern.
