John Edwards, please act before dems self-destruct!
by bethechange1
I think John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Al Gore and other top superdelegates need to step up and endorse Obama before Hillary Clinton's campaign completely destroys the energized and positive tone of the campaign prior to Ohio/Mississippi. She lost me at "John McCain and I have experience...Barack Obama has a speech." That was the lowest of the low and shows me that she will do anything to be the nominee, even if it cripples Obama's image and sabotages democrats' potential to win in November. Hillary Clinton has said she expects a negative campaign from the republicans and she will get what she expects - John McCain and Barack Obama have committed to a civil discourse, and while they can't control others' comments, I feel they will have the integrity to attack on the issues, not race or personal characteristics. I was torn before N. Carolina between the two candidates and even once I got behind Obama, I was proud of the "historic" nature of either of their candidacies. I am now increasingly distressed to see the two "minority" candidates in a negative competition while the white male candidate, John McCain, remains above the fray. Leaders in the party - do something, please!

While Hillary campaign on "knowing most of the world leaders" as First Lady, (psst Hillary. Most of them are dead or have been replaced), McCain is traveling to France, Germany and other countries to meet the new ones.

Edwards knows Obama's views are closer to his than Clinton's. But Clinton is The Party Machine, for better or worse. I hope Edwards wants what is best for the country -- that is why I initially supported him. Edwards' support for Obama would demonstrate he means what he says. Support for Clinton would be a display of Party before Country, which would backfire if Hillary doesn't get into 1600 Penn. Ave. without being a member of a tour group.

if the ugliness of this primary season ends up costing us the election in the fall, we only have the party to blame for it. The superdelegates have the power to pull the plug on this primary at any time from now until the convention by backing Obama (backing Clinton would only prolong the primary until the convention).

They are sitting on the fence and binding their time at their own risk and the risk of the party.
