Silda standing by her man
by DebbieR

Sorry ladies,

Most of you were right with your first instinct on this one. What favor was Silda Spitzer doing for her kids when she stood looking exhausted and sad beside her husband? You want to talk about an act of generosity? How about this?

Eliot Spitzer, standing alone at his first news conference :

I want to thank my family for their love and support. My career would not have been possible without my wife. She has no interest in appearing on camera or in talking to the press at this time. I would ask the press to respect her privacy.

Now that would be an act of generosity towards a spouse, and an act of leadership.

Silda still needs to ensure that Spitzer is able to bounce back from this. This is even more the case if Slida decides to file for divorce. If she threw Spitzer 'under the bus' it might FEEL good, but it could prove costly in terms of a future settlement.

Look at it from this angle; What is gained by NOT appearing by his side? I would say nothing tangible.

HEY, I could be really reaching here! I just want to give this lady the benefit of the doubt. (that she had some reasons and these reasons are justified)
