Given recent history, all potential political wives should demand prenuptial agreements that include independent "his" and "hers" Swiss Bank accounts preloaded with the necessary funds to pay all bimbo expenses for the husband and all private eye (anti-bimbo) expenses for the wife. Of course, the wedding should not be held until the appropriate access codes have been exchanged and account balances verified.

Note: what caused the FBI to investigate Spitzer was the thousands of dollars being "laundered" through bogus corporation accounts set up by Spitzer to hide his call-girl habit from his wife! ...over $50,000 for over 6 years.

I hope his father dis-inherits him, giving the family fortune to the three daughters. Elliot's wife should sue her so-called husband for everything he's worth! ...SIX years or more, laundering money to hide it from his wife, purchasing services on Valentine's Eve(!) and then requiring her to appear next to him on the podium when he confesses??? ...what a rotten husband.

And note: as Attorney General, he was supposed to be prosecuting organized crime groups running just such call girl operations (and more,) often use to launder criminal income. The fact that through much of this time he was purchasing services from similar organizations and laundering his secret funds makes me wonder if his prosecutions were done only against the mobs that competed with his "friends".

That is sad but is still does not come near Republicans appointing Mark Foley over missing and Exploited Children and then letting him retire with benefits!

He was appointed before anyone knew he was gay, being highly praised by many in the Missing and Exploited Children lobby.

And as for "retiring with benefits", this is the law OUR (R & D) politicians have made for themselves.

They long ago required a felony conviction before retirement benefits can be denied. Sick as Foley was, no one has charged him with anything but some dirty talk. Since it is not a crime to be gay or to mistakenly think someone is gay, his perfectly "legal" excuse is that he was just involved in "pillow talk" with someone he thought was a member of his protected minority.

Evidently the family of those young boys had complained to Hastert and other top Republicans for years and were ignored! And you are right the Republican party failed to investigate and file charges!
