Having suffered from mental illness myself, I would be surprised if this gentleman wasn't suffering from some sort himself. I am sure that everything he is doing makes sense in his delusional frame of mind, cause I have been to a similar place myself, and it is truly amazing what you can convince yourself of in that place.

A psychiatric assessment seems to be in order.

Unfortunately, unless you pose a physical threat to yourself or others, you cannot be compelled to undergo a psychiatric assessment. My own best guess, based on all the press this guy has ever gotten, is that he is just an asshole, and not actually mentally ill...

...You must mean, "FORTUNATELY, unless you pose a physical threat, etc..."

When we' must involuntarily undergo psychiatric assessments in this country even when we're not deemed a physical/harmful threat to anyone, then I'll know it's time for me to pack my bags and immigrate to a less Orwellian society.
