Obam and Clinton fight
by sheb
+1 Reply
Obama can't fight Clinton on the issues that is why he has to talk about her tax returns which most people are not concerned about. this lets me know that he and his staff are very inexperienced at handling trouble. If he can't handle this little bit of trouble he sure won't be able to handle the White House trouble. And that fairy tale idea that when he takes office everyone is just going to love him and agree with everything together is a bunch of crock. Go into any black church on Sunday Morning and there is a preacher that can inspire you to laugh, cry, dance or sing. Is that all the American people want? I hope not , I hope they want more than that! I am appalled as a black woman that people would be in such trance over a black man that can speak well. They need a lot of help!

I agree completely!

Empty shirt, no substance, and dirty because of ties to Rezko.

Now that is a package deal!

Washington is full of "fighters"
by SandyB
Yep, she is a fighter for sure. She fought so hard for Universal Health Care when her husband was in office that she turned off her own party and accomplished nothing. Yep, she keeps those boxing gloves close by because her judgment isn't sound enough to stay out of compromising situations. Ever watch C-Span, room full of fighters...and NOTHING gets done. We don't need a "fighter", we need someone who can reconcile party differences. That isn't Clinton, that is Obama. I'm tired of nothing getting done in DC, I want better healthcare and tax cuts for social security, I want to get out of Iraq, I want Bin Laden's neck, and I want a candidate who can accomplish those things...think I will stick with Obama, thank you.

SandyB do you remember Jimmy Carter?

Jimmy is a great guy, but he is one of those nice guys that could not get anything done.

I respect him for humanitarian efforts, building homes for the under privileged, and so on.

We need someone who knows how to fight for our causes, who has the tools to do the job.

Obama is not our savior.

We just recently took the seat that Denny Hastor held for 20 years, we are on a roll. Think of it; a majorty that is so large the repubs will not be able to stop us.

Yes, I remember Jimmy Carter, a decent guy who couldn't build coalitions. Obama can. I remember the Clinton years too, ruthless, unethical, and dishonest.

Gee SandyB I remember Bill Clinton getting quite a lot done considering he had to work with repub congress. Five Hundred Billion Dollar Surplus, but who is counting. You have to ask yourself that old question; are you better off now than you were when a Clinton was in office?

I (heart) partisanship...
by BlueOhio

See, this all speaks to my number one concern about Obama. Specifically, the notion that, by virtue of his glorious post-partisanship, barriers will crumble, coalitions will be formed in the interest of accomplishing those things that Obama (and I and you) want to see happen, and we'll all live happily ever after.

It sounds great and all, but I want to know where his 60 senators are going to come from. Or, alternately, why anyone thinks Mitch McConnell will go along with this.

Look, these things we believe in, healthcare for all, good education for all, an end to the war, etc...these are partisan issues. Should they be? No...I like to imagine a nation where everyone believes in these things, because I truly believe that they are just and right, but that's not the way it is. We believe in these things. The Republicans do not, and that makes them partisan. While I deplore the Republicans positions, tactics...heck, basically everything about them, that doesn't change the fact that they believe what they believe every bit as firmly as I believe what I believe.

The idea that the Republicans will just simply back down and let us enact our agenda betrays a breathtaking lack of understanding of the adversary we face. Compromise and post-partisanship and all of us coming together is all well and good, but what part of what you want are you willing to sacrifice? Where is the split difference between "We want to end the war" and "we want the war to go on forever"? Where is the split difference between "we want everyone to have health care" and "we do not want everyone to have health care"?

As much as we all get caught up in personalities and hope and maverickism, and decrying the awful, dangerous partisanship of these times, please remember this: we are partisan because these things matter, and we have very very different views of them than the Republicans. I don't feel guilty about that, and I won't apologize for it.

Stick to the cutting and pasting, you're stronger there.

I will bet SandyB believes is a god she can't see or touch, and that prayers are answered.

Wake honey, this is reallity, there is no such being, and it is most certainly is not dirty Obama.

Do you now see that more and more people are seeing that Obama is smoke and mirrors. There would be no change if he were elected, it would be the same old business as usual. His advisors have let the this cat out of his bag.

We need Hillary!
